The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has lifted restrictions on the solicitation of startup funding.

The JOBS Act - Jumpstart Our Business Startups - changed the rules back in July, putting the new way into effect on September 23, 2013.

Companies looking for capital can now contact potential clients directly to solicit funds. They can utilize social media like Twitter and YouTube to get the word out - not only about their product or service, but that they are opening seeking cold hard cash to make it happen.

The Vulnerability Of W3 Total Cache And WP Super Cache

In June 2013, a vulnerability was found in a couple of commonly used caching plugins, which allow arbitrary PHP code to be included in blog comments. The WP Super Cache and W3 Total Cache have launched updated versions to address this issue. Webmasters who use these plugins ought to update to the new versions as quickly as they can.

A Recap Of The Affiliate Summit East 2013

The Affiliate Summit East 2013 took place in Philadelphia from August 18th to the 20th. It all went down at the Pennsylvania Convection Center in Philadelphia which was a great spot even though we were hoping for New York again this year. The conference lasted over three days and there were dozens of activities that took place each day. There were education sessions which majored in the latest trends in affiliate marketing, I tried to attend at least one each session of the day. Many people attended including merchants, affiliates and vendors. Nice to see some friends that I haven’t seen since Vegas. This conference had the highest number of attendants for the East show to date, which was approximately four thousand.

WordPress cache plugins are often freely available and helps one work in improving the speed of his/her blog. Firstly in trying to distinguish between WordPress super cache and W3 Total Cache, it’s important to note that with WordPress super cache plugin, it’s possible to convert dynamic pages into static files (HTML files) from a WordPress blog though it falls short of important features like database cache, browser cache, CDN support and page caching that are offered in the W3 Total Cache plugin.

Facebook Announces They Will Begin To Publish Mobile Games

On July 30, 2013, Facebook has decided to announce that they will begin to publish games for mobile platforms.  The announcement took place at the Casual Connect Conference in San Francisco, California.  They are sharing the news in San Francisco in the hopes that the technologically-apt environment of Northern California will offer a number of developers that are looking to join their new game publishing effort.

Affiliate Summit East 2013 Fast Approaching

Affiliate Summit East 2013 is August 18-20 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The sold out conference includes educational sessions and focuses on networking and hot trends in affiliate marketing. Early check in is on Saturday evening from 4 to 8 p.m.

Educational sessions include latest industry issues and trends as well as information from experts in affiliate marketing. Topics include authority blogs, marketing campaigns, liability issues, mobile click to call, and landing pages and FTC compliance, among many others. The exhibit hall will be filled with affiliates, vendors, merchants, and networks for face to face marketing. I went to both the Affiliate Summit conferences in 2011 but couldn’t convince my wife to go to Philly this time. Hopefully Nevada in the West 2014.
