I recently received some information and a link to a free webinar on mobile (cell phone) marketing from the creators of MobiBlueprint. The creators of this webinar and informational course started in affiliate marketing in 1997 and worked hard to create their businesses. After missing a number of opportunities, Gauher Chaudhry finally started earning great money with CPA marketing in 2005. He is the creator of a number of courses including Pay Per View Formula (2007). Shortly after releasing PPV Formula, Gauher began work on this latest course about mobile marketing.

Microsoft Windows August Security Update

Microsoft has released a new Security Update, fixing some critical vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Windows, MS Word, and various other programs. The new update is touted as a record-setting package, claiming the most fixes ever released on one day, a part of Patch Tuesdays by Microsoft. This major update introduces 14 patches that address 34 distinct vulnerabilities, four of which are extremely critical in nature.

For online marketers, the traditional measurements of time, income, and value often do not quite calculate. Fixed-hour schedules fall by the wayside, static and inflexible salaries are all but forgotten, and the idea of a location-dependent job is completely foreign. The pipe dream of living life on your own terms is not quite impossible – in fact, for many marketers it is a reality.

There is, however, one part of online business that is no different from any other: hiring reliable staff. For most online marketers, entrepreneurs, and strategists, the most common type of employment – whether part-time or full-time – is with web designers, online developers, and graphic artists.

Any serious entrepreneur will have a horror story or two about design staff. It is part of the business and it is something that many people just have to adapt to. What is alarmingly common, however, the types of horror stories that are apparent – they are largely the same. These four tips, tricks, and strategies will help you avoid those same pitfalls and potential staffing disasters, whether you are aiming to hire one web designer or one-hundred.

Don't be afraid to pay a 'premium' rate

There is an old saying that is particularly applicable to the world of online labor – "if you pay peanuts, you should expect monkeys." From designers to developers; consultants to third-party recruiters, the vast majority of highly skilled online contractors are only available at a slight cost premium. It is not a bad thing – just a fact of doing business. With the right premium-level team behind you, you could be in line to crush your competition.

Hire based on experience, not sheer talent

There are thousands of über-talented designers out there without a speck of time management, marketing, or technological savviness. Unfortunately for their budding potential, they are best avoided for employers.

Focus on hiring designers with a proven track record, not just promises of success and flashy samples. While it is fine to hire relatively new and inexperienced designers, they are not the ideal port of call for a long-term project or important online investment.

Micro-test before you commit

If you are in the market for long-term staff, your best bet is to sample contractors using a strategy that has rarely failed internet entrepreneurs: the hiring micro-test. Pick out multiple contractors in your field and assign a simple one-day job to them. Then, compare results and work out which prospective employee is likely to mesh most effectively with your own long-term plans.

If you are serious, conduct an in-person interview

Online staffing does not need to stay entirely online. For long-term projects and potentially lucrative business ideas, it is often best to consult with your staff in-person and work together on occasion. If you are highly invested in a project and in need of high quality staff, the small upfront cost of an in-person interview could quickly be paid back in results, valuable input, and increased performance.

I have been using both Ad.ly and SponsoredTweets for some time to monetize Twitter, they are like the new paid posts. If you remember when John Chow taught everyone to sponsor posts on their sites until Google determined this was bad and punished every site that had paid posts. But this time Google doesn’t matter and Twitter is allowing the practice of paid tweets. The big two companies in this advertising area are Ad.ly and SponsoredTweets. If you are not signed up, you should. As long as you do not have issue with promoting products to your Twitter followers.

Creating software is no easy task but testing it and finding all the bugs is even more difficult. Many companies, including Mozilla and Google are willing to offer up to $3,000 as a bounty to anybody who brings a serious security issue with their browsers to their attention. The same cannot be said if you find a bug hidden in Internet Explorer.

I recently came across a post on Weblog Tools Collection about a new plugin for Wordpress from iDrive. The cloud storage solution company is providing a free service to Wordpress owners to backup their site files along with their database files, up to 2 GB, for free. Install the plugin from the Wordpress.org site and you have a great backup and recovery strategy that works entirely behind the scenes.

I recently ran into some performance issues with Wordpress sites hosted by Hostgator. This is definitely not a recommendation for Hostgator as their support is poor but I would like to recommend a Wordpress Cache solution that has performed well for me. By using a combination of WP Super Cache and W3 Total Cache Plug-ins, my sites are loading quickly and performing better than they have in the past.

PLRPro.com is Still Private Label Rights

Maybe it seems like an obvious suggestion that a site and a program called PLRPro.com is a private label rights program. But from their email advertisements and their website suggestions that their content is unique, making such a statement might upset the founders of the service. I jumped on board with an advertised 240 unique articles a month for a low $39.95 fee. Too good to be true? It sure is. After all, how can any company supply 240 completely unique articles for that low of a price. Especially when the length of the articles is 400 to 500 words each. There isn’t an outsourcing country with a population that will work for those low wages.
