Creating software is no easy task but testing it and finding all the bugs is even more difficult. Many companies, including Mozilla and Google are willing to offer up to $3,000 as a bounty to anybody who brings a serious security issue with their browsers to their attention. The same cannot be said if you find a bug hidden in Internet Explorer.
I recently came across a post on Weblog Tools Collection about a new plugin for Wordpress from iDrive. The cloud storage solution company is providing a free service to Wordpress owners to backup their site files along with their database files, up to 2 GB, for free. Install the plugin from the Wordpress.org site and you have a great backup and recovery strategy that works entirely behind the scenes.
I recently ran into some performance issues with Wordpress sites hosted by Hostgator. This is definitely not a recommendation for Hostgator as their support is poor but I would like to recommend a Wordpress Cache solution that has performed well for me. By using a combination of WP Super Cache and W3 Total Cache Plug-ins, my sites are loading quickly and performing better than they have in the past.
Maybe it seems like an obvious suggestion that a site and a program called PLRPro.com is a private label rights program. But from their email advertisements and their website suggestions that their content is unique, making such a statement might upset the founders of the service. I jumped on board with an advertised 240 unique articles a month for a low $39.95 fee. Too good to be true? It sure is. After all, how can any company supply 240 completely unique articles for that low of a price. Especially when the length of the articles is 400 to 500 words each. There isn’t an outsourcing country with a population that will work for those low wages.
Link Diagnosis is the best online link finding/building tool that I have found, paid or free. And the tool was just recently upgraded to make it that much better. On the companies blog, they discuss all the advancements the tool has made with the new release. We can only hope that it is able to handle the increased load as sometimes you had to wait until the day to run a website report. And now the tool has such a more robust ability to find links, everyone will be using it.
There is a variety of software available that provides a quick and efficient way of embedding your encoded FLV files into your HTML pages. Once encoded FLV is added to your HTML file, it can be viewed on your web site by most browsers. Adobe's Dreamweaver application accomplishes this by inserting a “SWF” component into an HTML page that enables the Flash file to play. This SWF component displays the embedded file whenever the site page is accessed. A set of playback control buttons will appear as well.
If you are a programmer looking for a very nice search function grep, this might be the thing for you: SQL Server Grep. It will work on many different platforms, it was originally developed for Unix but it can be used on a Microsoft Server, an SQL server grep can even be used in Perl to quickly search and locate strings of text.
I built a copy of new sites within the past two weeks using a theme I found on Wordpress.org called the CopyBlogger theme. This is the theme used and distributed by the popular copy writers on the blog CopyBlogger.com. An interesting aside is that the site promotes another common theme called Thesis in the most prominent ad position on the site. With the default installation of the CopyBlogger theme you are provided with three links below the header for Home, About, and Archives. The Home link is the only one that works prior to you creating pages names appropriately for About and Archives. See the site Debt Consolidation 2U for an example.
